Tropical Storms – Roundup of Tropical Storms:

In the Eastern North Pacific Ocean: Hurricane 04e (Bonnie), located approximately 1332 nm southeast of San Diego, is tracking west-northwestward at 15 knots.

In the Northwest Pacific Ocean – Tropical depression 05w (Aere), located approximately 55 nm south of Iwakuni, Japan, is tracking eastward at 12 knots.

Malaysia – At least 3 people have died after flash floods in Baling District in the state of Kedah, Malaysia. Flooding struck after heavy rain from 04 July 2022. Levels of the Ketil River at Kuala Pegang jumped to 36.05 metres, which is 50 cm above the alert level. Flooding swamped at least 9 villages in the district. Flood water reached up to roof height. Over 70 houses were severely damaged and at least 6 completely destroyed by the force of the flooding.

Australia – More than 30,000 residents of Sydney and its surrounds were told to evacuate or prepare to abandon their homes Monday as Australia’s largest city faces its fourth, and possibly worst, round of flooding in less than a year and a half. Days of torrential rain caused dams to overflow and waterways to break their banks, bringing a new flood emergency to parts of the city of 5 million people. Some areas between Newcastle, north of Sydney, and Wollongong, south of Sydney had received more than a meter (39 inches) of rain in the previous 24 hours. Some has received more than 1.5 meters (59 inches).
