Cornwall, England - A flash flood has swept through the Cornish Village of Coverack filling homes with water and causing extensive damage. Emergency services said floodwaters which are as high as four feet in some places. Residents said that rain and hailstones as wide as 50p pieces lashed the town with the storm lasting an hour and a half. The main road into the village has been completely destroyed by the volume of water surging over it, and residents can not get into or out of the village.

Istanbul, Turkey - Heavy rainfall has caused floods in Istanbul, inundating roads, underpasses and subway lines and causing havoc in the city. People stranded in homes due to flooding in the district of Silivri — one of the worst-hit areas — were helped out in boats. The Eurasia Tunnel, connecting Istanbul's Asian and European sides under the Bosporus strait, was temporarily closed to traffic.
