Wildfires – Namibia
Raging bushfires are destroying vast swathes of grazing land in farming areas in the central northern areas of Namibia.
Farmers in the area between Kalkfeld and Otjiwarongo have been battling a fire since Tuesday morning and by darkness, they still could not get the fire under control.
On Monday, a bushfire started in the area of Summerdown to the northeast of Okahandja mere days after another fire burned to ashes most of the grazing on several farms between Ovitoto and Hochfeld. Both of those fires were eventually brought under control.
