Zika Virus in UK
Public Health England (PHE) confirmed 53 cases have been reported on British soil, with three in one area. The trio were diagnosed at the Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and Calderdale Royal Hospital in West Yorkshire.
And PHE confirmed they were prepared for a “small number” of Zika cases from people recently returning from abroad, but added the risk to the wider population was low. No case of Zika virus was contracted in the UK.
