In the Western Pacific Ocean: Super Typhoon Lekima is located approximately 214 nm southwest of Kadena AFB, Okinawa, Japan is tracking north-northwestward at 10 knots.

Typhoon 11w (Krosa) is located approximately 167 nm south-southwest of Iwo To, is tracking northeastward at 01 knot.

New Jersey, USA - Wednesday's severe thunderstorms with high winds and tropical downpours caused chaos on central Jersey roads. Emergency responders were busy assisting motorists caught in the floods. Flooding however, remained localized.

India - At least 16 people have died in Maharashtra as heavy rains and overflowing rivers swamped five districts, forcing authorities to move more than 140,000 people to safer places, a government official said on Wednesday. Rivers in the region were flooded as authorities released water from dams that had filled after some districts such as Kolhapur received as much as 670 mm (26.4 inches) of rainfall in a week.

Scotland - People in Edinburgh have been left reeling after significant flooding hit the city for the second time this summer. The first flooding reports came in from Leith and Restalrig, where portions of roads were left underwater and buses were diverted. Bankhead and Sighthill were also heavily hit, with Bankhead Crossing left underwater with collapsed manhole covers after a drain burst in the area. Train travelers were also affected with a number of railway lines under water.
