Wildfires

Wildfires – California, USA

A wildfire broke out Monday afternoon near Avila Beach in San Luis Obispo County, prompting authorities to close the 101 Freeway and evacuate residents, fire and law enforcement agencies said.

Wildfires – Arizona, USA

The Bush Fire, around 30 miles northeast of Phoenix, has burned over 64,000 acres since Saturday, according to fire officials. Firefighters will have to battle winds that are expected to reach 20 to 30 miles per hour as well as dry summer heat, with temperatures above 100 in places. About 1,600 people living east of the fire were ordered on Monday morning to evacuate, with those in another community north of the fire ordered on Tuesday to do so, officials said.

The Bringham Fire, also in Arizona, began on June 6 and is now at nearly 6,000 hectares (14,800 acres) and only 5-percent contained.

Wildfires – Utah, USA

The fire season continues with multiple wildfires reported this weekend across the state of Utah. Fire officials say there are three wildfires burning in Tooele County alone. The largest one, the Big Springs Fire, is estimated to have burned almost 3,000 acres.
