Wildfires – Arizona, USA
The Bush Fire, the largest wildfire burning in Arizona, remains under 187,000 acres and at 86% containment, with no new perimeter growth since Tuesday. Currently 417 personnel are fighting the fire.
Containment of the Central Fire burning east of I-17 at New River rose to 69% containment from 36% on Wednesday. The fire remains at 4,499 acres as of Thursday morning.
The Mangum Fire north of the Grand Canyon, spanning 71,325 acres, increased to 68% containment.
More than 1,000 fire personnel were deployed to fight the Bighorn Fire, which has grown to 81,702 acres in the Catalina Mountains northwest of Tucson.
Fire crews at the Bringham Fire on the Clifton Ranger District of the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests have held the blaze at 22,244 acres and 37% containment.
The Aquila Fire in north Phoenix, which began on Tuesday and spans almost 900 acres, is 76% contained.
