Wildfires – Washington, USA
A wildfire has destroyed approximately 80 percent of the homes in Malden, Washington, a town of 300 people in rural Whitman County, according to Whitman County Sheriff Brett Myers.
The Whitney Fire near Davenport has now grown to 20,000 acres and is 0% contained, according to Public Information Officer Isabelle Hoygaard. It is burning timber, brush, grass and crops. The WSP said homes, crops and infrastructure are threatened.
