Dengue Fever – Brazil

The city of São José do Rio Preto in São Paulo state, Brazil has recorded more than 1,000 cases of dengue in the first two months of 2022. According to the Municipal Health Department, there were 1,093 cases registered between January and February. No deaths were recorded in the period.

Lassa fever – Nigeria

Nigerian health officials reported 90 confirmed Lassa fever cases in the last week of February, including 12 deaths. This brings the total for the first two months of 2022 to 540 confirmed cases and 98 deaths.
