Geminid Meteor Shower

The Geminid meteor shower will peak on 13 and 14th of December this year and is expected to see up to 100 shooting stars per hour.

The Geminid meteor shower will start on Sunday 7 December and continue until December 17. Geminid meteor shower Dec. 13-14 will the best evenings to view as experts have predicted to see a 'shooting star' every minute from around 10 p.m. till dawn.

The Geminid meteor shower can be viewed from locations all around the world. Astronomers suggest the best time to view the Geminid meteor shower between 9 p.m. (21:00) local time and before dusk.

According to the NASA's Solar System Exploration, unlike most meteor showers which originate from comets, the Geminids originate from an asteroid.

The Geminid meteor shower takes place every December and is one of the most anticipated events in the stargazing calendar.
