Storms and Floods

Tropical Storms - Roundup of Tropical Storms:

Typhoon 06w (Noul), located approximately 401 nm southwest of Kadena AB, Okinawa, is tracking north-northeastward at 14 knots.

Typhoon Noul (local name: Dodong) has claimed the lives of at least two people in the Philippines and forced the evacuations of thousands others in northern Luzon.

Tropical storm 07w (Dolphin), located approximately 165 nm west of Ujelang, is tracking north-northwestward at 07 knots.

Tropical Storm Ana weakened slightly before making landfall in South Carolina on Sunday morning, sending pounding surf crashing against Atlantic beaches as it prepared to bluster inland. The U.S. National Hurricane Centre in Miami said Ana made landfall between Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach at 6:00 a.m. ET Sunday morning, and packed top sustained winds of 45 mph. Ana, a surprisingly early tropical storm that emerged ahead of the official June 1 start of the Atlantic hurricane season, was moving to the north-northwest at a plodding pace of about 5 mph. Ana has subsequently dissipated.
