Telica (Nicaragua): After a week of calm, a new phase of explosive activity occurred yesterday at the volcano, beginning with a moderately large explosion at 12:02 local time. An ash plume rose approx. 3 km above the summit.

Nevado del Ruiz (Colombia): Unrest continues at the volcano. Strong steam emissions, sometimes mixed with light ash continue, accompanied by elevated seismic activity inside the volcano. Manizales observatory reported several episodes of volcanic tremor associated with the movement of fluids and gases and ash emissions. Additionally, tiny rock-fracturing earthquakes were recorded, located mainly under the southwestern, northern and northeastern parts of Arenas crater at depths between 1.8 and 8 km. SO2 emissions remains high and the steam and ash plume reached up to 1500 m above the volcano's summit.
