Dengue Fever - Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic is one of several countries in the Americas experiencing an outbreak of dengue fever. The Ministry of Health reported more than 8,855 cases through mid-August. 12 deaths have been reported. This is an increase of 1,145 percent in reported cases compared to the same period in 2018 (711 cases).
Measles - New Zealand
In a follow-up on the measles outbreak in New Zealand, country health officials report through Friday, 1384 confirmed cases of measles across the country, with 1151 of these confirmed cases in the Auckland region. In Auckland, there have been at least three cases of measles encephalitis during this outbreak.
Cholera - Sudan
Sudan's Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH) announced on 10 September that four out of the six samples obtained from patients with acute diarrhoea were positive for Vibreo cholera at the National Public Health Laboratory (NPHL). As of 9 September 2019, a total of 41 suspected cholera cases, with two deaths.
