Wildfires - Australia
A major fire on the NSW north coast is causing concern for emergency services amid fears some properties may have been lost. The fire in bushland around Drake has already burned through more than 60,000 hectares since it began almost two weeks ago. Overnight the threats to homes eased but firefighters are still bracing for damage reports.
Meanwhile, another fire burning about 15km east of Glen Innes in the Brother State Forest is still out of control. So far it has burned through 16,000 hectares. But the threat to homes has eased after crews acted to hold the fire to the western side of Old Grafton Road.
