England - Major London train stations were closed yesterday as a result of flooding, including Moorgate, St Pauls, Victoria and London Liverpool Street. Yesterday saw a month’s worth of rain dumped in some areas of the UK in as little as six hours, with bad weather expected to continue today. Commuters suffered evening rush hour misery as four central London stations were hit by flooding following huge downpours in the capital on Tuesday. Liverpool Street station saw the worst of the chaos, with the rain forcing numerous rail services to be delayed and cancelled. Meanwhile, Tube routes were also closed. Water at the station was said to be ankle deep in some parts of the concourse, with Network Rail adding: "An overflowing storm drain on the roof meant excess water came onto the tracks causing multiple track circuit and signal failures. Meanwhile, at Victoria station - the second busiest in the UK - trains onthe District and Circle lines were not stopping.
