Plague – Mongolia

The Mongolia National Center for Zoonotic Disease reported an additional suspected human bubonic plague case in western Mongolia. The case is a 37-year-old man from Tsetseg soum, Khovd province and is currently hospitalized in critical condition. It is reported the patient ate marmot meat.

Eastern Equine Encephalitis – Massachusetts, USA

Massachusetts State health officials confirmed the second human case of Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) virus infection in a female in her 60s who was exposed to EEE in Hampden County.
