In the Eastern Pacific Ocean: Post Tropical Cyclone 09e (Elida), located approximately 538 nm south-southwest of San Diego, is tracking northwestward at 09 knots.
Tropical depression 10e (Ten), located approximately 1324 nm south-southwest of San Diego, is tracking westward at 09 knots.
In the Western Pacific Ocean: Tropical depression ( ) 06w (Six), located approximately 234 nm east-southeast of Kadena AFB, Okinawa, Japan, is tracking westward at 14 knots.

South Sudan – Rivers have broken their banks in South Sudan, leaving thousands displaced by flooding. In Jonglei State, the White Nile has caused flooding in Bor South, Twic East, Duk and Ayod counties. Media reports suggest over 200,000 people have been displaced. Thousands of homes have been reportedly destroyed, along with crops and livestock. Flooding struck in Bor Town in late July when a dyke along the White Nile collapsed. Further north along the White Nile, an estimated 30,000 people have been affected by flooding in Renk County in Eastern Nile state. Meanwhile the overflowing Akobo River which runs along the country’s border with Ethiopia has caused flooding in Pochalla County in the Greater Pibor Administrative Area. Crops have been destroyed and families displaced.
Mexico – Heavy rainfall from 08 to 10 August caused flooding and landslides in the state of Veracruz in eastern Mexico. 110.3 mm of rain fell in 24 hours on 08 August in Sontecomapan in Catemaco Municipality. The next day, 158 mm of rain fell in Jesús Carranza Municipality. The state’s Civil Protection reported 3 fatalities after a landslide in Filomeno Mata Municipality. Across the state more than 1,700 buildings were damaged and around 200 people were evacuated. Bridges were damaged and several roads blocked by landslides and flooding, leaving some communities isolated.
