In the Atlantic Ocean: Tropical Storm Isaias is located about 45 mi…75 km ene of Fort Lauderdale Florida and about 45 mi…75 km se of west Palm Beach Florida with maximum sustained winds…65 mph…100 km/h. Present movement…nw or 325 degrees at 9 mph…15 km/h.

Remnants of Ten are located about 250 mi…405 km nnw of the Cabo Verde islands with maximum sustained winds…25 mph…35 km/h. Present movement…wnw or 285 degrees at 16 mph…26 km/h.

In the Western Pacific Ocean: Tropical storm 04w (Sinlaku), located approximately 78 nm south of Hanoi, Vietnam, is tracking west-northwestward at 07 knots.

Tropical Storm 03w (Hagupit), located approximately 264 nm southwest of Kadena AFB, is tracking northwestward at 07 knots.

Sudan – Khartoum was hit by heavy rains on Friday (31 July) and Saturday (01 August 2020). Floods covered large parts of East Nile locality in Khartoum North. A number of houses collapsed.

Afghanistan – Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority (ANDMA) said that 100 homes were damaged or destroyed after heavy rain triggered flash flooding in Kuz Kunar district on 31 July. ADMA reported 14 people have died as a result, with 6 people injured. Flooding was also reported in Parwan Province where homes and roads were damaged or destroyed in areas of the provincial capital, Charikar.

South Korea – At least 5 people have died and 7 others are missing after heavy rains triggered mudslides and flooding in central South Korea on 02 August, 2020. Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) reported rainfall of more than 290mm in 24 hours from 01 to 02 August in areas of Gyeonggi and North Chungcheong provinces. North Chungcheong Province is the worst affected. Homes have been damaged, roads closed and train services suspended. Floods and mudslides caused fatalities in Chungju (1), Eumseong (2) and Jecheon (1).

Georgia – According to local authorities, flooding affected several villages in Oni municipality, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti region. Roads and bridges were damaged or destroyed, leaving around 2,000 people cut off. Power and drinking water supply was interrupted. Flooding was also reported in Guria Region, where roads and crops were damaged, and in Imereti Region, in particular in Tskaltubo municipality where the Rioni River broke its banks. Meanwhile mudflows have blocked roads in Tskhinvali region.
