Typhoon 09w (Chan-Hom), located approximately 68 nm of Taipei, Taiwan, is tracking north-northwestward at 10 knots.
Almost one million people have been evacuated from coastal areas in anticipation of the typhoon carrying wind speeds of 173km/h (107mph). Chan-hom's path is expected to take it south of Shanghai later on Saturday. The storm left five people dead in the Philippines earlier in the week. It also hit Taiwan and Japan, uprooting trees and injuring several people.
Typhoon 11w (Nangka), located approximately 366 nm west of Agrihan, is tracking westward at 07 knots.

Hungary - A severe storm in Hungary has claimed the life of one person and injured 29 others. The heavy storm uprooted trees, broke electric lines and damaged roofs.
India - Three members of a family were killed after incessant rain in Jammu in the early hours of Friday caused their vehicle to skid into a nullah. The rain also triggered flash floods in many areas of the state. Meanwhile, the Indian Air Force evacuated 28 BSF personnel marooned in flood waters near the international border in Ramgarh sector. The rains also triggered landslides that led to a blockade on the 300-km Jammu-Srinagar national highway at Gangroo near Ramsu.
Missouri, USA - Heavy rain recently pushed waterways in southwest Missouri out of their banks, briefly forcing scores of residents from their homes.
