India - Vast tracts of croplands and human settlements in areas under Kandi and Jangipur subdivisions of Murshidabad district have been flooded as the rain-fed rivers in the localities are in spate. Heavy rains coupled with flows of upland streams from Jharkhand have inundated a number of lowland villages under Bahutali and Haaru Gram Panchayats of Suti area while the overflowing rivers like KanaMayurakshi and Dwarka have caused floods in the villages of Bharatpur, Barwan, Khargram blocks in Kandi Sub-division.
