COVID-19
Worldwide fatalities are nearly 14 500. More than 336 000 people have been infected.
Italy – The Italy Ministry of Health recorded an additional 5,560 COVID-19 cases during the past 24 hours, bringing the epidemic total in the country to 59,138. Officials also reported 651 additional deaths.
Spain – Officials in Spain are now reporting nearly 30,000 COVID-19 cases as Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez decided Sunday to extend the state of emergency in the country.
New York – The New York Department of Health recorded an additional 4,812 COVID-19 cases, bringing the statewide total to 15,168. This includes 9,045 cases in New York City. Meanwhile total cases in the USA reach over 35 200.
Germany – Confirmed COID-19 cases in Germany have risen to 22,672 and 86 people have died from the disease.
China – The National Health Commission says there were 39 new confirmed cases on Sunday, down from 46 a day earlier. All involved travellers arriving from abroad.
South Korea – The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) said there were 64 new cases on Monday, taking the total to 8,961. The death toll rose by one to 110.
India – Authorities in India have placed more than 80 cities and districts across the country under stringent lockdown after cases of coronavirus were detected there.
