Worldwide fatalities are nearly 20 500. More than 454 000 people have been infected.
Italy – The death toll in Italy rose to 7,503, with 74,386 infections.
New York – New York state health officials reported 5,146 additional cases of novel coronavirus, bringing the statewide total to 30,811 confirmed cases. New York City is now reporting close to 18,000 cases after seeing nearly 3,000 additional cases today. New York City has also reported nearly 200 fatalities. Meanwhile the United States has registered more than 1,000 COVID-19 deaths as the country confirmed more than 69,000 cases.
Germany – Germany recorded 4,191 new cases of the coronavirus and 36 more deaths, raising the total number of infections to 31,554.
South Korea – South Korea confirmed 104 new cases, bringing the total to 9,241, with five more deaths.
Spain – Spain is the second-worst off country after Italy, with 47,610 cases. The country’s health ministry announced a record increase in the number of confirmed cases Wednesday, reporting a one-day increase of 7,937. Its death tally rose by the largest number too, by 738, to reach 3,434.
France – The death toll in the country from the pandemic rose to 1,331 yesterday. There have been 25,233 cases confirmed in the country, a rise of about 13 percent in 24 hours.
