Wildfires – Oklahoma, USA – Update

More than 30,000 acres in Oklahoma were ravaged over the weekend by a series of about 24 fires, according to the Oklahoma Forestry Services. The blazes are primarily affecting the northwest and southwest regions of the state, and the largest fire is called the 412 Fire, located in Beaver County in the Oklahoma panhandle. Officials report that the 412 Fire has burned 29,120 acres of land and is only approximately 50 percent contained. Several homes in Beaver County have reportedly been damaged or destroyed. Local authorities ordered evacuations in the surrounding areas, and parts of Texas neighboring the panhandle are also vulnerable to fire exposure.
