Ebola – DR Congo

In a follow-up on the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), the World Health Organization (WHO)has reported six new EVD cases since April 10 in Beni.  A patient escaped from a clinic on Sunday complicating efforts to contain the disease. Since the outbreak began in mid-2018, 3448 confirmed and probable cases were reported, including 2259 deaths.

Dengue Fever - Brazil

 

Health officials in the midwestern Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul have reported 45,759 dengue fever cases to date. This gives the state an incidence of 1,769 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and 22 deaths.
