Japanese Encephalitis – Philippines

The Department of Health (DOH) 5 Bicol in southern Luzon reported Saturday on seven Japanese encephalitis (JE) cases in the region from January to the end of April.

Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever

Iraq – The Iraqi Ministry of Health announced on Saturday that the cases of hemorrhagic fever have reached 162 cases, including 27 deaths, since the beginning of the year.

Russia – In the Volgograd region, the first case of infection with Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) was detected in 2022. The case of infection was detected on June 9.

Monkeypox

New York City, USA – Since May 18, 2022, 11 people with monkeypox have been identified in NYC. Most of the initial cases were likely infected during travel to Europe. However, recent cases report no travel and no exposure to a person who traveled, suggesting person-to-person transmission of the virus is occurring in NYC.

Portugal – In a follow-up on the monkeypox situation in Portugal, The Directorate-General for Health (DGS) confirms 18 more cases of human infection with the Monkeypox virus in Portugal, with a total of 209 cases so far.

Argentina – The National Ministry of Health reports the third monkeypox case, confirmed on June 9 with no history of travel in Argentina.
