Tropical Storms – Roundup of Tropical Storms:

There are currently no active tropical storms.

New Zealand – There were 9700 lightning strikes over land from 6pm Sunday to 6am on Monday, and 150mm of rain for some, as a cold front with thunderstorms attached moved onto the North Island. 1.5 metres of snow has fallen in Aoraki/Mt Cook National Park. The South Island’s main passes (Lewis, Arthurs, Lindis, Haast and Burkes Pass) are all closed due to snow. The Auckland Harbour Bridge has been fully closed for short periods when wind gusts reached 100kph. Wild weather in Wellington caused power cuts, flooding, a slip and road closures.
